the handmade with love ♥ range has come over all spotty! these cute handmade, hand painted 'spotty dotty' birds are new and exclusive to the shop. available in a range of colours (or order a colour to suit you) these birds bring a splash of colour to any room and a smile to any face. for a slight additional cost these birds can also be personalised. add a name, date or both and these spotty little cuties become an extra special gift!

We are really excited about this new collection of handmade button hearts which is exclusive to ajb interiors. 

Carved from pine, hand finished, lovingly decorated with a carefully chosen selection of buttons (old and new) and hung with ivory ribbon. Our button hearts make beautiful and unique decorations, gifts for special occasions or just as a way to say ‘I love you’. 

Hang your heart over a banister, on a wall, in a window or anywhere where the buttons will catch the light and watch them twinkle and sparkle.

A nest of tables is a great way to introduce versatile furniture in to any room. Conveniently stacked when not needed and easily pulled out to become instant coffee tables as soon as visitors arrive! 

In the shop we price the tables individually so that they can be bought as one table, two tables or as the full set of three.
We can also make the nests in sizes and styles that suit your room. By our calculations that makes our tables perfect for any home!

 

spring has sprung!

During the Springtime everything blooms and grows and, as spring is now very much in the air, things are starting to bloom and grow at ajb interiors too!

We have lots of lovely new stock in the shop! 

We are very excited about it and hope that our customers will be too.

Along with the usual quality furniture and home accessories we have also decided to introduce some garden accessorise into the shop. Just in time for an outdoor spring clean!

We have also started to sell online, through ebay. Eventually we hope to expand on this and create our very own online shop and catalogue but until then we will be offering a selection of our furniture and accessories through the popular online auction website.

environmentally friendly mango wood

In the shop we are selling an increasing number of unusual mango wood accessories so, we thought we'd tell you what we know about this surprising wood.

As the name would suggest, mango wood comes from the same tree as the popular tropical fruit and is harvested on mango plantations throughout South East Asia. The wood can be found in various colours and has a coarse, interlocking grain which makes it is easy to carve, paint, polish or treat. This enables beautiful, unusual and interesting pieces to be crafted.

Not only is mango wood beautiful and versatile it is also a sustainable source of wood making it very eco-friendly. Even better!

Sustainable mango wood

Mango trees are huge trees grown mainly for their fruit and are constantly being replenished. The trees can grow up to 100 feet in height and between 3 and 5 feet in diameter. 

Once a tree reaches it's full size it will stop producing fruit and farmers will then cut down the trees to make room for a new harvest of young mango trees. The older trees are then sold and used for making wood products just like the ones we sell in the shop.

Mango wood has also proved itself as an attractive alternative to other woods that grow in much more fragile forests such as teak and mahogany. 

So, next time you're in the shop, keep your eyes open for our beautiful and sustainable mango wood products.
